For many people, a garden shed is a necessity. If you are planning on installing one, you will need to first take a step back out of the home improvement store and really plan well. Although most of these sheds are great for convenience, they are still a piece of your landscape, and effect your property values as well. You need to plan for the proper look, design, and ultimate use of your shed. You will see that through this, you will have the best possible home for your gardening supplies possible, and it will add to your home as well.
The shed is quite the simple thing, right? A box like, small building in the back of your property to hold your gardening scissors and law mower, right? Not so! In fact, there are many reasons to use the shed. Perhaps you will use it to store you gardening equipment, but will you also do some gardening in it? If you install a few green house windows, you could use it to start plants in the early spring. Or, perhaps it would be wonderful to have a small corner of the shed dedicated to your love of wood working? Do you know what size you want? Perhaps adding some shelves, or even a bench could help create more room. Cabinets to hold your necessary tools are a good thing, but what about adding in some drawers, hooks, or rafters for other sized items.
The shed is more then just this too. The outside of your shed should match well with the rest of your property. Adding a red shed to a green house, well, it may just make it look like Christmas time year round. But, more then that, look at the design of the outside as well. Adding some charm to your shed makes it more of a feature in your yard instead of a building for gardening tools. If you simply take a few minutes to plan the uses and look that you want to achieve in your shed, you will find that the end result will be fabulous!
