Growing Vegetables - A guide from Vegetable Gardening Club
The vegetable gardening club has been set up to encourage new gardeners and for the more experienced vegetable grower, to learn and discuss tips and tricks of vegetable gardening

One way to get rid of lingering weeds in a newly prepared garden is to "solarize" them. Cover the area with clear plastic and let the sun do the work. This works best in hot climates.

Prevent the germination of weeds in your lawn or garden by using corn gluten. This also acts as a fertilizer. Will not kill the existing weeds or other already established plants.

Prevent deer from devoring your precious garden by planting, aromatic herbs, strongly scented, prickly plants, rampantly spreading plants, ornamental grasses, and vining plants. Some plants to use are lemon thyme, spearmint, common foxgloves, and thorny blackberries.

For organic disease control, try the following: test your treatments, start early in the morning, don't apply treatments in windy or wet weather, treat only when the weather is cool, make sure you are covered up.
