Are You Envisioning A Shade Garden?

Shade gardens are some of the most unique and beautiful types of gardens out there. If you are thinking about installing one in your home, you will need to plan ahead and do some basic research. When you plan your shade garden you will need to consider several things. Some of these include the amount of shade the area will have and what you wish to accomplish in your shade garden. There are many levels of shade, and while all will work as a garden, only certain plants will grow in certain limited amounts of direct sun.

The first thing you need to do is monitor the area. How much direct sunlight does the area get throughout the course of the day? Is there limited sun, direct sun, or full shade throughout the day? Once this is monitored, you can begin your search for the proper plants to place in the area. You will find that many plants are available for each type of shaded area. But, there is a big difference in how they will look and grow if placed in different amounts of sunlight. Some will do very well, but they will look different then you would think. Instead of having bright colors, the colors will be paler, more pastel. They will have more defined leaves and edging as well.

It is most important to find which plants can not survive in the limited amount of sun. Some plants require large amounts. You will want to take the time to plan our your garden so that the plants can do well. The best way to do this is to look for other shade gardens either in person or online. You will also have to investigate the needs of the plants you choose. If you are not sure, you can always look up the specific plant online or ask your local gardener for help. You can have a very prosperous garden that is under shade if you take the time to plan it out from the start.
