Choosing Shrubs

Choosing shrubs is often like choosing the landscaping material that you will use in your home. They often surround the home like a barrier, leaving little to be imagined in most cases. But this plant does not have to be so boring. In fact, there are many gardeners that love to use this plant as a foundation to others. Often, you will see this plant being trimmed to look a certain way with a certain design. So, do you want this plant in your home’s landscaping?

First of all, you will need to determine what type of shrub you would like to use. There are many different types, and many different colors and styles to choose from. To determine what type of shrub you want to use, begin by knowing what look you want to achieve. Do you want the plant to fill in a large hole in design against your home? Or, do you want to use them as a natural fence along your property line? Then, you can begin your search. But, before you rush out the door, consider what climate zone you are in versus the plants that will grow in this area. Because these plants often need good sun light, it may be necessary to plan out what is available. Then, you can determine what types and how many of each of these plants that you need.

Okay, when you head on out to that gardening center with the hopes of purchasing a shrub or more for your yard, consider what you have learned. You know what you want the end result to look like and you know what plants will work in your area. Take your time in determining which plants to bring home. There are many advantages to using this type of shrub. They are easy to take care of with very little maintenance. They grow well in most types of soil with little fertilizing in most cases. To know for sure though, make sure you learn about the specific types that you do purchase.

Shrubs

Ladybugs are found in the US, mostly in the western states of Nevada and California.  These 1/2 inch long beetles feed on whiteflies, mealybugs, scales, and aphids.  Keep ladybugs around by spraying a little sugar water on a few leaves.
