Japanese White Spiraea
Japanese Whites are effective in mixed shrub plantings, low borders and clumped together.
The Spiraea 'Japanese White', Spiraea albiflora, has bright green foliage, topped by heavy clusters of white blooms.
Spiraeas are great in shrub groupings, near buildings, mass plantings, and low hedges.
This deciduous shrub is low growing and exhibits a rounded form.
Spiraeas are covered with flat clusters of flowers in June and again off and on all summer, especially if the old flowers are pruned.

Make a plastic root cellar by sinking a garbage can into the ground with the rim 3 inches above the ground. Line the bottom of the garbage can with 2 inches of damp sand, repeat this with each layer of vegetables. Finally, place a 1 to 2 foot high pile of leaves and straw over the top followed by a plastic film held down by rocks.
