This plant will spread slowly in the shade of your house or other foliage. The Lily of the Valley, 'Convallaria majalis', a spring planted tuberous root, exhibits broad leaves and fragrant, little, nodding, white, bell-shaped flowers. The Lily of the Valley requires very little care, and you will be rewarded with sweet bell-shaped flowers every spring. The Lily of the Valley also has a long history of medicinal uses.

Leafhoppers are 1/4 inch long pests that like to suck the juices right out leaves, buds,and stems.  You can keep these bugs away by planting petunias, geraniums and perennial grasses - they hate moisture and low light.
