Mixed Sparaxis
The Sparaxis or Harlequin flower, 'Sparaxis', a spring planted corm, produces lovely mixed colored flowers including orange, white, yellow, red, purple, and pink.
The Sparaxis is also commonly known as the Wand Flower.
The Harlequin flower looks great in beds, borders, gardens and containers.
This plant has sword-shaped leaves and star-shaped flowers.

One way to get rid of lingering weeds in a newly prepared garden is to "solarize" them. Cover the area with clear plastic and let the sun do the work. This works best in hot climates.
