This flower is also known as Japanese Anemone and is one of the best fall flowers to plant.
Brigid, 'Anemone Coronaria', a spring planted herbacious root, produces gorgeous mixed colored flowers with small petals.
The Anemone is very late in breaking out of the ground in the spring, so be careful with early spring cultivation.
Anemone are easily grown and do best in slightly shaded locations.
The foliage is glossy and brilliant.
They should be placed in well drained soil with lots of organic matter.

One way to get rid of lingering weeds in a newly prepared garden is to "solarize" them. Cover the area with clear plastic and let the sun do the work. This works best in hot climates.
