Russian Olive trees can be made into a hedge by planting 10' apart in the row. The Russian Olive tree, Elaeagnus Angustifolia, is an excellent windbreak and wildlife tree. Prefers a sunny location and is tolerant of most soil types. The Russian Olive has low water requirements and displays a high tolerance for salt and alkali Prized for its silvery gray foliage. Brussel sprouts grow well in cool climates.  The 2 1/2 feet tall plant might produce as many as a hundred 1 to 2 inch ball-like sprouts.
